about JULIA

Hi! I’m Julia. I have been a dancer and a performer since I was Eight years old, ultimately becoming a Ballet and Lyrical dance Instructor.

I love teaching body awareness and helping others notice how subtle shifts and correct alignment allow ones body to become capable of so many different types of movements. Dance has taught me that when you know where your center is, you can be thrown out of balance and quickly return.

Naturally, this seamlessly flowed into a passion for yoga. My yoga journey began in 2006 and I instantly saw improvements in flexibility, strength, grace and balance. In 2015 I completed my yoga training with the Northern California Yoga Institute.

My style of teaching is heavily focused on linking the breath with mindful meditative movements. My desire is to make my students feel invited and welcome to reconnect with themselves and to work through their own blockages on their mat.

Another passion of mine is plants and I have my Bachelors degree in Botany from Chico State. I continue to study Herbalism with a goal to incorporate nature as therapy in the work that I do. I am preparing to attend massage school with a focus on Structural Integration to fuse together all these different modalities of healing and offer a comprehensive approach to health and wellness. When I’m home I’m spending time with my wonderful husband and our three beautiful children. Together we explore the outdoors as well as tend to our chickens and garden, and create delicious meals from scratch!
