Meet Liv
My love for movement started in my childhood ballet classes at age 3 and has stayed with me ever since. After completing a master’s degree in Humanities from University of Chicago in 2007, I realized I wasn’t following my true passion. I switched gears and became an ACE certified personal trainer in 2008 and discovered my true passion and talent for helping people to heal through movement. In 2011 I attended the Soma Institute in Chicago to become a licensed clinical massage therapist and I have been actively practicing massage ever since. I specialize in injury and surgery rehabilitation, chronic pain management, trigger point therapy, and soft tissue release.
After attending the Soma Institute, I obtained my RYT-200 yoga certificate through the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association and have been teaching yoga since 2013. In 2018 I was introduced to Pilates and immediately recognized the far-reaching health benefits that Pilates has to offer. Through my work as a massage therapist, I am a strong advocate for preventative self-care and graceful aging, so regular Pilates practice just makes sense to me! In 2019 I completed a Balanced Body Reformer training, and shortly after that received my Mat Pilates, Active Aging, and Barre certifications through SCW Fitness. I am currently working on obtaining a specialty in Corrective Exercise through NASM.
When I’m not working with people on the mat, the Reformer, or the treatment table, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, baking bread, brewing kombucha, sewing, and watching the cohort of hummingbirds that join me in my garden.
